Crawling means to visit the link by SEs and indexing means to put the page contents in DB (after analysis) and make them available in search results when a request is made.

Crawling is the process or reading through your webpage source by search engine spiders. They provide a cache certificate after a successful crawl. Indexing is updating the cached webpages in search engine database. Indexed webpages are now ready for search engine rankings.

Crawling is basically the visit of Google bot to your newly created website/web page. On the other hand, indexing is the process in which Google bot puts that newly created website/web page into its giant database of websites after crawling.

Crawling or spidering is a term used when Google, or another search engine, sends its bot to a web page or web post and "reads" the page.
Having your page Indexed by Google is the next step after it gets crawled. By no means does every site that gets crawled get indexed, but every site indexed had to be crawled,
In general, indexing refers to the organization of data according to a specific schema or plan. In IT, the term has various similar uses including, among other things, making information more presentable and accessible.
